Mouse issues while playing games

When I play Overwatch, when I look around, it sometimes goes much slower than it should, and it's inconsistent - sometimes it does at full speed, and sometimes I have to move my mouse much more than usual for the same effect, meaning sometimes I get killed because I can't turn around fast enough because my mouse fails - it feels like a tracking issue, but I am unsure: my mouse is the Razer Deathadder Chroma, I have mouse acceleration disabled, surface calibration on, and have made sure my mouse mat is clean. This only generally happens in game; usually in Overwatch my CPU usage is 80-99% and my RAM usage is 65-85%. I have tried recalibrating and the issue persists. This is very inconsistent also - sometimes it happens, sometimes it doesn't, but when it does, it is extremely annoying. Any help would be much appreciated

Solution
The thing we need to figure out is why you're hitting 100% usage. The issue most likely isn't with the mouse or the mouse software directly; rather, when the CPU hits 100% usage, everything gets bogged down because the CPU can't process any more data.

After a bit of research, your CPU is quad-core and 3.3 GHz, but it's also four years old. It's probably too old to successfully run Overwatch and everything else properly.

That sensor/mouse should not get any tracking errors. Have you tried a preset for the liftoff distance? sometimes when I calibrate my mouse(g403) the liftoff distance is to low and wont track properly... I just use the default preset and have 0 issues.

Does the Deathadder Chroma have the DPI adjustment buttons? If so, are you perhaps bumping them without realizing it? I have the Elite and it does have those buttons; I upgraded from the Deathadder 2013, which did not have those buttons.

They do not have DPI adjustment buttons.

I have set the liftoff distance to maximum and it seems to have fixed the issue, although my problem often comes back after a few days. If the problem does not show after a week, I will pick this as the solution. Thank you for your response.

UPDATE:
Unfortunately, when the CPU usage goes above 95%, the issue persists

Does your mouse have on board memory? If so, closing out of the razer program might help. I never have my logitech software running unless I'm changing something... or my keyboard software for that matter it just eats up resources(not a lot but enough). my point being that having that running only adds things to go wrong...

I never have the razer program actually open while in-game; there may be processes that are running in the background but I don't think this will help. I have noticed that when the CPU usage goes above 95%, the issue starts to occur. I have lowered some game settings to try to minimise the amount of time it is above 95%, but it is not a perfect solution, as the issue still does sometimes occur. I mostly have to limit my FPS to lower than what it was.

What's your CPU? Also, have you checked Task Manager to see what's using up all the CPU power? I don't think it should be hitting 95%+ even in games like Overwatch unless your CPU isn't powerful enough or something else is using it as well.

My CPU is the Intel Core i5 3350P, and Overwatch takes up about 80% when the total CPU usage is at 95-100%. The other top things are WMI Provider Host and Discord, but WMI doesn't go above about 7 when in-game, and Discord is minimal - 1-2% at most.

It's not a problem. Thank you for trying anyway

Well, I have Overwatch open, and Discord. However, I have programs like Razer Synapse, Mcafee, Steam, Avast, etc all running in the background. Going to be uninstalling Mcafee after my subscription has ended though.

Yeah, as I said I was planning on uninstalling McAfee. But I might as well do it now when my PC's doing things like this

It couldn't possibly hurt. Your mouse issue could be due to both AV's trying to scan stuff while your games are running; in that event, not only do they get pissed at each other for accessing files randomly, but they sometimes try to access the same file and both get all hung up.

UPDATE:
I have uninstalled McAfee but the problem is still there - if my CPU reaches 100% then my mouse lags. Sometimes Overwatch takes 80% CPU, sometimes it take 50%, it's really inconsistent and I'm really confused. I have an Intel Core i5 3350P, GTX 1060 6GB, 8GB. I would have thought a quad-core CPU should be able to play OW? I am able to get up to 120FPS on Ultra settings but I'm having to limit it to 80FPS to minimise mouse lag, but even then, it sometimes lags. Is this a bad CPU? I just can't figure it out. I want to play at 120FPS but my CPU's just limiting me. Thanks, and sorry for very late reply.

Thank you very much for the info. I'll hopefully be upgrading my CPU soon, hopefully fixing the issue. Thanks for coming back to answer the question after such a long delay!
