Which CPU to choose ?

Hey everyone.So I want to upgrade my i3-3220 to same generation i5...Maybe some of you would say that it's not worth but yea.. I'm not crazy gamer and I don't have extra money now for better upgrades so I'm searching for used i5 3rd gerenartion cause the i3 is laready quite slow for some newer games.My question would be: I found 2 options for used cpu and also I searching for i5-3470 but can't find it in my local area.But I already have two choices and I want some help to choose which is better.

  • 1. i5-3350p for 50€
    2. i5-3470s for 55€
So I googled for some info and I found that 3470s has higher turbo boost but lower base clock, so now I'm not sure which should I choose?
P.S. Like I already said I'm looking for i5-3470 so if I find it I will definitely buy it but now I just want to get some info about these two CPU's which I mentioned above.

Yea I know what S and T means, but I just wonder which would be better only from these two, i5-3350p or 3470s , cause 3470s has higher turbo boost speed, but lower base clock.

One way to gauge processor performance is to compare passmark ratings.
Your I3-3220 has a passmark rating of 4333 and a single thread rating of 1760.
The single thread rating is usually most important for games.
This tends to be true for games such as sims, strategy and mmo which depend on a fast master thread.
Fast action games depend most on the graphics card.
but, if you play multiplayer games, then the total rating is more important.
I5-3350P is 6113 1747
I5-3470s is 6247 1860.

I see neither as a worthwhile upgrade unless you are into multiplayer games.
Does your motherboard support Xeon E3-1270 V2 passmark 9649 2072?

I guess it should support, cause it's LGA 1155, but I looked in local adverts so can't find any Xeon.. :D , so I guess I will stick with i5.
Btw yea I'm mainly playing multiplayer games and just sometimes single player so I guess i5 would be quite good upgrade for me.Passmark scores are better for 3470s so I guess it's little bit better than 3350p ? Anyway I will look for 3470 but just wanted to know little bit about that S version, since it uses less power but i guess it's still quite good for gaming ?
