Im thinking of purchasing a Fractal Design Node 202 mini itx case as im thinking of going down mini itx route. Im wondering would this case be a good one to build with and has anybody had any experience building with this case?

So you would probably want something like the Silverstone RVZ02B then: https://pcpartpicker.com/product/zmgPxr/silverstone-case-sstrvz02b

I would like it for a bit of gaming and hd video and a workstation. Would i be better off sticking with a tower?

Specs are
CPU-intel core i7 6700k
MB -Asus maximus viii gene
GPU-EVGA nvidia gtx 770
GSKILL Trident zz ram
Noctua NF-U12S
Creative sound blaster Z sound card
Samsung evo 120gb ssd
seagate barracuda 1tb hdd

Im thinking of changing the cpu to the i5 6600k. Would i benefit by this and sell the i7 and use the extra money to buy something else? Would i loose out by going a smaller form factor? Also would the i5 be good for ripping bluray dvds or would i benefit from the i7?

Im currently using a fractal design define R4 case which i was thinking of downsizing to the node 202 but im thinking of sticking with that case now. So would i be better off selling the i7? Also is liquid cooling better than air?.

I'd stick with the i7 if it's possible workstation usage, while it costs more initially, it has much better returns over time used than the i5.

My personal favorite mITX tower is the Phanteks Evolv mITX tower, its considerably smaller than the fractal R4 (nice tower, I have an R5) and is plain enough not to be obtrusive in any decor, but nice enough not to be an eyesore. It'll also fit standard ATX psu rather than the SFX needed by the node 202 and has no heat issues, it'll fir the U12S cooler. It's also not that expensive comparatively to most other quality cases.
For the most part, liquid or air makes no discernable difference, they all work the same in their brackets, a h55 is comparative to a hyper212, the h60/hyper212 evo, nh-d15 to H105 etc. It's usually budget that's the main difference. With mITX, the possibility of smaller cpu cooler clearance can demand liquid cooling for high cpu usage /OC situations, but that also is dependent on having a 120/240mm spot for the mount. More than a few mITX don't have 120/240mm other than intake, using 80/92mm exhausts. So it's both case dependent and personal choice at the same time, but liquid can offer benefits air can't in smaller cases.

The Node 202 doesn't have an optical drive bay. And you don't really need BD-R on PC anymore, I would not worry about purchasing one.

I like mini ITX and I have a build based around a similar case - the Silverstone RVZ01B, it's a bit tight to work in but it gets the job done. Most cases in this class can hold full size GPUs.

You can't use liquid cooling on small form factors, you have to use a small air cooler like a Noctua NH-L9i.

I like the idea of these small form factor case but i would like a case with an optical drive bay such as my fractal design define R4. The BD writer im using is a pioneer BDR-S09XLT to rip bluray dvds as its a fast read speed drive. I could go external bluray dvd drive but they are not as fast as the one I own.
