I'm trying to do a build with an Intel Pentium G4560 and I really want to use this H110 motherboard for the cheap cost. I've seen several PC PartPicker builds that have the G4560 and use this exact same motherboard. None of them mention having to update the BIOS first. Will I need to update the BIOS first? If so, is it 100% required that I'll need a PC with a Skylake CPU or can I use a USB?

Solution
to update the bios on that h110, you need a compatible 6th gen cpu to be installed, then run the file to update bios to support 7th gen cpus

after that, remove the 6th gen cpu and install the 7th gen cpu, the g4560 and then you can use it

there should be some h110 on the market with the bios already installed, on some local stores they can do the bios update for you

the only assured way to use the g4560 is buy at least a b250 chipset mainboard that is almost identical to the h110 you mention

yes they are compatible but only after a bios update

if the mobo you get has an old bios then you would be stuck with no way to update the bios without buying another cpu

you are better off getting a B250 mobo

Thanks, I'll call some local repair shops and see what they charge. If it's a lot cheaper to get a B250 I'll just do that then.
