New card stopped working. Old card no longer works

Just bought a new zotac GeForce gtx 970 today and I installed it along with the GeForce experience driver. It worked flawlessly for one match of PUBG then I went to switch to H1Z1 and that's when I got a screen saying there was a problem with my pc and it had to restart. I restarted and it wouldn't read the card and hdmi. I put my old card in (r9 280x) just so I could see what went wrong but the same thing. No reading of the hdmi. I cannot get to my desktop through the mobo hdmi because it does not work. Is there something I could have unplugged from the mobo while installing???

Did you remove the old video drivers after installing the new card?

If you remove the GPUs, the mobo HDMI should work, assuming you have integrated graphics (depends on CPU)

I installed the GeForce game driver &r my friend told me that auto uninstalls the old drivers. And my mobo hdmi just give black screen too

Nope , it doesn't you need to use this program to fully uninstall the drivers. : http://www.guru3d.com/files-details/display-driver-uninstaller-download.html . After that install the newest drivers from nvidia website. It will work.

So Take gpu out, use mobo hdmi, go to that website, and that will uninstall both old and new gpu drivers. Then put in my new gpu and it should work?

Download this program and uninstall the drivers with it. After that download the newest drivers from nvidia website. This is the link to the program.

Just tried without gpu in and hdmi plugged into mobo and my monitor still says the hdmi is inactive

Try to use a VGA or DVI-D cable to connect to the monitor with montherboard.

I put the old gpu in because I noticed it had slots for 1 8pin and 1 6pin and I only had 2 6pin. It's on with display now so I will uninstall drivers with my old gpu in. Thanks for the help. Really appreciate it

I deleted and reinstalled the new GeForce game ready driver then reset. After I reset, it would load the windows login and then it just loses signal again??

At this point I am almost 100% sure that's the cable issue. Replace a HDMI cable to another one if you can and if you can use a dongle from VGA to HDMI (buy it from the store) and this way plug in the monitor dude.

I don't think it's a cable issue because it was working fine with the old card and before I restarted with the new card too. But I'll try with vga
