Don't laugh. I am the original owner of a Dell Dimension 2400 that I've upgraded over time. Now that XP is no longer supported, and my family is on a tight budget, I'm considering simply buying Windows 10 and doing a clean install on my old Dimension desktop--but am worried if the hardware can handle it. I have 2GB RAM, with a partitioned hard drive. The C: drive has 50GB with 13GB free, the D: drive has 250GB with 125GB free. My graphics/video includes the Intel(R) 82845G/GL/GE/PE/GV Graphics Controller and an NVIDIA GeForce FX 5200. Can I install Windows 10 on this machine? If so, will it be slow/laggy? I tend to have a lot of browser windows open for research, a couple of documents/PDFs, and at rare times, like to play MYST series or maybe (it's been a long time) Runescape. I'm mostly concerned about computing time or opening/closing documents and web pages as I work. This machine does not need to remain partitioned for my purposes, if that helps. What do you think--can I update the OS on this Dell?
