like I said some chipset used are a pain
you need to look up the chipset used on that asus adaptor . then see if its natively supported some are and driver is built in to the Linux os and some may need manual install some wi fi chipsets are a real pain and may not work out at all like Broadcom and some realtek

like my TP link with its Atheros chipset it uses works plug and play fopr example

this is one type of hardware you got to look before you leap to see how Linux friendly they are [I learned the hard way once after the fact ]

look up posts like this on your model for tips

wi fi is my only internet connection so I have to be dang sure it will work out of the box no wi fi = no internet and no way to update or get drivers or what not [got to work right the first time right off the bat for me ]
