Can a noctua NH-D15 fits a z270 motherboard

Hi guys,

My question is can noctua nh-d15 cooling fits http://www.gigabyte.com/Motherboard/GA-Z270X-Ultra-Gaming-rev-10#kf. My gpu is going to be zotac 1080 ti amp! extreme , and i'm going to use a full tower case( haven't decide yet). But I heard that this cooling don't fit on some motherboards aka it blocks some slots...

I would go with the Universal, it has better RAM clearance. The 1-2C difference was not present in my experience, in fact, Cryorig Ultimate ran 2c cooler when I switched the D15 for a friend. Maybe because we cloud change the orientation of the Cryorig unlike the D15, or something to do with the case ventilation.

I got carried away by the noctua hype and bought that cooler a few months ago, it sat very close to my GPU so I couldn't change orientation to exhaust out the back of the case, and after I bought new ram to upgrade I noticed that it interefers with the ram.

So I bought the Cryorig R1 Universal, it fits everything, and cools the same. Th added benefit is that it looks good too, the the noctua looked like crap from the window of my case, especially with the color of its fan. I have a 7700k overclocked to 4.9 btw.

Having it near or directly touching gpu is one of problems with this cooler if you have 16x slot as first one but this is not on this motherboard, so to fix this noctua released nh-d15s, it is bit off center and so you have better gpu clearance, but it have just one fan, even thought it is cheaper.

I don't understand you ? Basicly you know my setup the GPU and the MB , the GPU I think is the largest 1080 ti. So I'm really scared that the noctua nh-d15 will touch the gpu ... So can you guys give me some alternative is it the Cryorig R1 Universal better?

In my country the difference between sycthe mugen 5 and noctua is only 25$ so compare to the total price I'm going to give for the pc is really nothing. I just want to have the best air cooler and also not to interfere with the GPU or RAM.

Cryorig R1 Universal is your alternative. It is all around better than the D15, it looks better and fits better. I don't even know why you would bother with the Noctua D15.

Because I though D15 is the best air cooler but as I read more the cryorig r1 does indeed fall behind with 1-2 C which is absoultly nothing.

Anyway Cryorig r1 Universal or Ultimate?
