Hello guys! Today I was looking for a motherboard for a new AMD FX based build I'm doing, and came across these 2 motherboards. I wanted to know which of these 2 would be the best pick. The issues:

The Gigabyte is 1800 Argentinean Pesos (110 U$D), but it comes with a shipping fee of 250 Pesos (15 USD).

The Asus is 2000 Argentinean Pesos (120 U$D) but the guy selling it lives 5 blocks away from my home.

Which mobo should I go for? I'm planing on getting either a FX 6300 or 83XX series and a single RX 470 (and another one later down the line since the price difference between an rx 470/570 and a 480/580 is more than 100 U$D here). I was also planing on overclocking said CPU to the limit I can take it on a AI1 CPU Water Cooler (probably a Corsair Hydro 110 series).

Thank you!

No the G4560 cannot be overcloked. If you just want something to overclock the crap out of for fun go for it, I enjoyed overclocking my FX chips more than any other cpu's in recent memory. I would get the asus board, I didn't see you would have to pay a shipping cost on the gigabyte board when I first read that, in that case the asus board is definitely the better buy.

An H110 is a good cooler but pricey and I would not buy it used or any CLC used. If you were planning to buy a used cooler I would look at a big air cooler like a noctua NH-D15 or something over a CLC.

The FX chips are fun to overclock, so if that's your main reason for buying I wont complain about it too much lol. Just don't expect stellar gaming performance even with...

I would really recommend you stay away from the amd fx series, its about 7 years old at this point and lives on a dead platform that is even older with no upgrade path. I would really not recommend anyone build an fx rig in 2017. The fx 8350 gets regularly beat out in gaming by duel core hyperthreded Pentiums like the G4560. Spending this kind of money on an fx based pc is a horrible idea in my opinion. I would recommend you save up for ryzen or do a budget intel build.

To answer your question I would say the asus board is worth the extra ten dollars especially for overclocking, that is pretty much the best fx board you can buy.

Thanks! I totally understand your POV regarding the FX series. Is the Pentium able to be overclocked? That's my biggest want to be honest, and the reason why I decided FX (apart from the fact that a full FX combo costs a little over half of any Intel combo I've seen as of late). Thanks!

I'm going for budget gaming at the max performance I can get. The processors like the FX 6300 are around 850-1200$ here, and I just searched the Pentium you mentioned and it's 1250$+ for a used one. I was thinking AMD just because of that, cheap CPU+MoBo combo and can overclock the hell out of it to juice more performance.

Do you recomend I just go for the Pentium, or getting and overclocking an FX? What other choices for good budget gaming are there (Skylake I3/5/7 and Ryzen are not options since thecheapest I3 is 225 U$D and the cheapest Ryzen is 300 U$D)

I agree with You about OC 990 chipset (only core unlocker can be tricky) but You are missing important point that GA990FXA is AM3+ (both Phenom and FX CPU combatible), and ASUS Formula Crosshair IV Extreme is AM3 (max supported CPU is Phenom II x6). If he would go with FX, than he have only single choice here.
