most name brand power supply wont fail unless you load them near there max output on the 12v rail. if you keep the 12v rail at 50-70 percent of max even units with cheap caps should last a few years.

Blow up like explode? Very, very unlikely. The corsair vs series isn't great in terms of quality, but it certainly isn't crap and won't explode.

What build are you using it with and for what workload?
