Hi guys, I am planning to build my own rig and I am looking for one decent monitor.

So far LG IPS LED Monitor 24MP68VQ caught my eyes. It's 5ms with 75hz. I'm planning to go for this monitor because it's not that expensive compared to other monitor. But what I'm concern now is the 5ms. Is it good enough or I should get the 1ms monitor? Also I really want 24 inch monitor cause it's just a nice size for my desk.

Thank you

5ms you would see a bit of blurring in fast moving games like racing games etc, where as 1ms would be shraper.

I have an ASUS 24" monitor, 2ms, VS247, and you are right, its the best size to go for, not too big, not too small.

Damn! I am going to play a lot of racing games like Need For Speed and also Project Cars. Do you know any nice looking monitor that is 1ms?

I've seen some of the Asus' monitor.
How about the thin bezel?

Yeah I know I was looking at the LG, it is very nice with the thin bezel, Ive just not found one like that with a low response time, have a look for 1ms, 2ms, you could probably get away with 3ms, but I wouldnt go any higher than that.

You won't get blurring with 5ms which is related to ghosting. Not to mention that's gtg is 2 color changes and a single frame at 75hz is 13ms. Also the spec is fastest possible with overdrive and not what you'd get normally. Some 1ms monitors are actually 10ms and placebo makes people still think it's better.

Wow I didn't know that. Hmm well then, what do you think of the specs of LG 24MP88HV? I really don't want to go for the overkill monitor so yea

Well yeah that's the thing. Mostly the high end monitor only offers that. Well it's actually really hard to find below 5ms for budget monitor

Below 5ms search for gaming monitors.

Slim bezel doesn't really matter unless you have multiple monitors. I couldn't find a pro review on it to find out the color accuracy but it's the same color gamut as other typical cheaper monitors. Personally I'd go with va for better picture. https://pcpartpicker.com/product/YsL7YJ/samsung-monitor-c24f390 This is $170 and will look much better because of the contrast ratio and low black levels thanks to va. I still couldn't find a pro review on this either but some places state it's true 8 bit not 6+frc like all these other monitors. You could get a 144hz display at $200 but these won't be as good color accuracy.
