Is it Sketchy, when im using Nord VPN, i see a IP dedicated server that is only 3 miles from my house. I do not use this option but it usually wants me to connect to this one. Maybe im paranoid. IDK. What do you guys think. One more question, what is the load % next to the servers mean?

This is more how much do you trust your VPN provider. How close the data center is really makes no different to security. The traffic is encrypted between you and the data center...that is the reason you buy vpn. It is then unencrypted and comes out of the data center mixed with all the other vpn customers.

The only downside to a data center near you would be it makes it somewhat easier for government agencies to try to force the data center to give up information on you as compared to in another country. Still if you are doing stuff that can get you arrested then you need to be paranoid. You would have to be doing more than a little copyright violation to get them after you.

For almost all other users of vpn having a close...

I haven't used Nord, but I would assume it just wants to connect you to a server that will give you the fastest speeds. If the server is in a well populated city, then that should be expected. I would assume load % means how many users are connected to that server, assuming that Nord uses shared IP addresses to improve privacy and security.

For almost all other users of vpn having a close data center...latency wise.. is a great reason to use a particular VPN provider.
