Is ASUS M5A78L-M/USB3 compatible with AMD FX-6300 CPU?

I heard some newer CPU requires the M5A78L motherboard to have the latest bios to run the computer. If that occurs, in order to be able to run your computer, you must insert an older CPU to access the internet to update the motherboard bios, then swapped back to your newer CPU.

Anyone heard anything like this?

Solution
According to this:
https://www.asus.com/us/Motherboards/M5A78LMUSB3/HelpDesk_CPU/
That CPU is supported under BIOS 1401 or later. If you have an earlier BIOS, then you would need a different CPU(other than the 6300) in order to flash the BIOS to the newer version.

There should be a sticker on the motherboard (or its box) with the BIOS version and level. If the sticker says 1401 or newer, then you are good to go. If it says anything else you will need the BIOS flash to support your 6300 CPU.

thanks. sorry for the confusion earlier statement. yeah i just got done reading about the outdated bios settings elsewhere. i haven't received the motherboard yet to find out. i hope the motherboard number is good to go. if not, i'll have to go through the flash drive bio way. i don't mind learning it since i dont know it and i think i should learn it.

by the way, the disc that comes with the motherboard, would the disc update the bios?

Here's the thing, You can't update the BIOS without a CPU. You cannot update the BIOS with an UNSUPPORTED CPU. If your motherboard BIOS doesn't support the 6300 CPU, you CANNOT use the 6300 CPU to update the BIOS.

Usually, the disc that comes with the motherboard is even more outdated than the motherboard. It is recommended to download the newest drivers and BIOS from the motherboard manufacturers website.

Okay. If I have issue with outdated bios setting, then i'll contact the manufacture for help on how to flash the bios.
According to compatibility list, the chipset I have is compatible with my motherboard. I just hope my motherboard bios isn't out of date for my chipset. sure, i'll go browse on their official website for the newest drivers. thanks.
