not all memory installed in use

Hi I have a Lenovo G505s with an A10-5750M but when I decided to go from 8GB ddr3 to 16GB ddr3 at 1600ghz he shows on system installed 16GB but only 7.20GB usable, any help here? Using windows 10 64. Thanks

You put a single 16GB DIMM. The max per slot on that laptop is 8GB. You have to have two 8GB DIMMs for 16GB usable.

There is 2 RAM stocks each of 8gb...

Sorry, I was looking at the wrong tab on CPU-Z. I thought it was the SPD tab, but it was the memory tab. That is why I thought you had a 16GB DIMM...

no problem m8, I had a desktop before this laptop and no problem with matching ram... but this one appears to be sentimental, I just do not get how he can detect de 16GB but only use 1 of the sticks, because of the voltages?
