Recently just switch from a fx 8350 to a i7 7700k. New mobo is a asus strix z270e. The problem I'm having is the i7 7700k is running a little too hot. It idles around 30-40 cel and goes up to 65-70 while the computer stays around 30-40. I'm also hearing about the high voltage thing. If so what can I do to lower tempature n voltage

I have the same cooler and while it works ok I did replace the thermal paste with MX4. I put a grain sized amount on the CPU and spread it evenly over the CPU with a store card then re-attached the H100i which lowered the temp a few degrees celcius.

I figured out that the cpu is quite voltage sensitive too... Try going from stock voltage, then upping your ghz by .1 each time until you can't post. Then up the voltage by .025 until you get a post, then run realbench's stress test. I was able to get my 7700k to 4.9ghz at 1.25v, and it's stable. It gets to 79 degrees while doing the benchmark for realbench though, with a Arctic liquid freezer 240mm AIO cooler. Ambient temps are 21.1c.
