what are the best places to check reliability of nvidia drivers

Nvidia driver feedback forums are all I can recommend. Several people having significant issues with their last few drivers; I had to go back about 5 drivers to regain stability with my 1080Tis. Your best bet for your unique situation, is to stick with your current one if it works or look for legacy drivers feedback in the nvidia forums if it doesn't.

Depending on what card you have Nvidia doesn't have issues anymore where you need to downgrade to get things to work better. Those days are over.
