I have MSI X370 Gaming Pro Carbon with version 1.5 and a Samsung 960 EVO 500GB M.2 PCIe NVMe SSD.
Also bought a Windows 10 Home USB Flash OS from a retailer. Now Windows 10 is installed as regular BIOS mode, because i did not find out how to install it in UEFI.

I want to install Win 10 in UEFI mode, the board dont find/list/recognize my Samsung 960 EVO M.2 SSD OR the Windows 10 Home FLASH USB when Bios is set ENABLE on "Windows 10 WHQL Support" as i understand is needed to be enable after reading the manual. Also when I enable the WHQL Support, the 960 EVO and Windows 10 USB Flash disappears from the boot menu.

Is it a setting in the Motherboard setup i need to change to make it work and install Windoes 10 as UEFI? Or is it the components that is not compatible?

Regards

Rene

You dont need Win10 WHQL Mode to install it in UEFI mode. First disable it, nothing will be shown in boot menu is as there is no disk that already has Win10 installed in UEFI mode yet. You might try to enable that after installing it first.

Go to Boot -> Boot Mode Select and set it to UEFI.

Can you see your install USB and 960 Evo listed as boot options? If you can not see your install USB, that means it was written in legacy mode, meaning you can not install Windows in UEFI mode from it.

If you can see it, then you can install from it. If not,you need to create a UEFI bootable Windows 10 USB. It is very easy to do, just google it and follow instructions.

Also, when boot-> Boot mode select set to [uefi+legacy] boot menu option...

Also, when boot-> Boot mode select set to [uefi+legacy] boot menu option should list your install USB 2 times : one with a prefix UEFI other without prefix. To install in UEFI mode, you need to boot from the entry that has UEFI prefix.

Thank you for the answer. That explains why they disappears with WHQL at least. I have also googled that maybe the issue is the Windows 10 Home Retail USB stick that it is in Legacy mode. So I am going to create my own using Rufus or Windows Media creation tool and see if that lists UEFI when in the boot menu.

I will get back to you when i have tried your suggestions.
