hai

so the problem is pretty straight forward. whenever i download compressed files, i wont be able to extract it later when i finished download because the file seems to be corrupted, meaning im gonna have to redownload. it also happens on .exe files where the installer/program just wouldnt work because it got corrupted in the process.

i download using internet download manager, tested different versions of it, even the old one and it eventually brought me back to the corruption problem. in order to successfully download it, i had to use internet explorer, yes internet explorer without the presence of idm.

is there a way for me to fix this data corruption or is it just my isp being douches they are and nothing i can do nothing about it?

it doesnt matter what programs i use to extract, 7zip, winrar, winzip, all gave me corrupted result in the end.

thanks in advance,

Different downloads for both machines or using a file downloaded on one machine and tried in another?

Too lazy to make a bootable cd/ usb, geez.

i cant specify what files that would fail to download properly on both machine. some files are downloaded successfully and can be extracted without any problem whatsoever. i didnt try to launch the downloaded file on another machine after downloading, i just redownloaded it and hope it will be fine then.

for example, i tried downloading nvidia drivers from its official website and i couldnt extract the package to install because it is corrupted (7zip error or something like that). i had to redownload with another browser, which sometimes doesnt even bring me that much of a success.

and yeah im too lazy for that part haha. does it involve me booting up to those? i thought i didnt have to do that anymore after windows clean install :p

Are you using one PC to download the files or are you downloading on both machines and experiencing the same condition on both?

hmm i never tried downloading the same file on different machines. i always thought it must be because of idm or internet acting up. what i know is that it happens on random, sometimes when i download 3gb .rar files (10 parts), i didnt have a problem. then sometimes when im downloading 50mb .rar file, its corrupted.

i dont see the patern

the moral of the story here is that we should never give up, even when we get kicked down again and again while being punched simultaneously, we find a way to get back up and run from the bullies forever. because they'll come again if we're not careful.

Have you ran a SMART test on your hard drives?

Have you spoken to your ISP about this?

I would run all of these tests to test for latency issues.

use Ping 127.0.0.1 -n 100 when you ping yourself.

http://www.techfleece.com/2011/03/10/how-to-check-for-packet-loss-between-your-router-and-computer-connection/ is yet another way to check for packet loss.

This sounds like either packet loss over satellite or HDD corruption.

http://www.wikihow.com/Test-Network-and-Internet-Latency-(Lag)-in-Microsoft-Windows

How do those tests turn out?

SMART tests?

ISP response?

i am not able to run the test for "127.0.0.1 -n 100" and "192.168.0.1" successfully. both giving me the request timeout and general failure. i can however ping the common 192.168.1.1 successfully with 0% packetloss.
