I am having problems with building a PC using Asrock Z270 Extreme 4 motherboard, and I would like to plug my case speaker in for POST troubleshooting.

However, I am not sure where to plug the speaker, in the manual there is only something called chassis speaker. However when I plug the speaker in, there is no sound to be heard.

I have posted my problem here

Just in case I connected the wrong pins, is there a proper place to connect the speaker to?

lot of boards today may not even have a system beep anymore and rely on all that digital stull like asrocks drdebug error code led thing or idiot lights lie red led next to the cpu memory and vga ?

you could check your manual to see if theres a setting for the beep if it got it there can be a setting to turn it on or off as well ?
