I need help choosing the best home network equipment setup. My sister and her husband just purchased a new house. The aren't very tech savvy to say the least so I've been tasked to setup their home network.
Here's the info:
1.) 2 story house w/finished basement a little over 6,000 SF.
2.) Typical web surfing, kids stream YouTube, Netflix, etc.
3.) 2 or 3 fire sticks also for streaming.
4.) No gaming
5.) Spectrum internet (100mbs)
6.) Ethernet ports in every room.
In the past I have always setup a main router then added wired AP's as needed for coverage. Going this route I was thinking one on each level. Something like 2 Linksys AC1900's and reuse their current AC1200 router in the basement.
2nd thought was going with one "big" router. I was looking specifically at the TP-Link AC5400. It claims up to 10,000 SF of coverages.
3rd option is the mesh systems. I don't know that much about these.
The first option is around $280 while the 2nd option is around $225.
Thoughts, comments, suggestions?
Thanks!
