Is it possible for me to buy for example Windows 7 Professional to do a clean install? I currently have Windows 7 Ultimate. I've tried to do a factory reset, I need a disk and I don't have that. I've tried to do a clean install by installing Windows 7 as an ISO-file from Microsoft but for some reason my product key isn't working. I've decided that I wanted to buy a whole new Windows. But will that work? Can I buy Windows 7 Professional to do a clean install?

Edit: I have no idea how to put this in the right topic so if a mod could do that for me that'd be awesome

OK. Then buying any version of Win new and doing a clean install will be fine. Just be aware that any pgms on the drive will be unavailable after the clean install.

If you want to try fixing the crash/freeze issue you have tho, try this...
Download and run CCleaner. Do the Clean and Registry portions both. https://www.piriform.com/ccleaner/download
If it finds a lot of crap, you may want to reboot and run it again.

You can always do that, yes. But it's odd that the .ISO file you downloaded from MS doesn't accept your product key. Did you download the correct version of Win? Is the machine a pre-built and not a retail? If so, you may have to download the Win from the PC builder.

What's the issues that is requiring you do want to do a factory reset?

Hi. I want to do a factory reset because my computer is acting up. It crashes and freezes etc, and nothing seems to work. I'm also scared that I might have a virus. I've also wanted to do a clean install because I want to start fresh with my computer again.
