Hello,
(current specs at bottom)

Before I start my question I will answer the basic questions first.

Parts to Upgrade: CPU? MOBO? RAM?

Do you need to buy OS: Nope, I have a version of windows here at home.

Preferred Website(s) for Parts: Don't have a preference.

Location: Netherlands, Noord-Brabant, Helmond.

Parts Preferences: CPU Intel.

Overclocking: No

SLI or Crossfire: No

Your Monitor Resolution: 1920x1080

Additional Comments: I normally play Overwatch alot. Don't really play other games nowadays. I have DayZ StandAlone, Arma 3 etc. aswell.

And Most Importantly, Why Are You Upgrading: I recently bought an INVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050 GPU because I knew I'd be needing an upgrade from my old GPU. But what I didn't know, was that it doesn't really change anything when you still have an old CPU. My CPU is bottlenecking my GPU at the moment.

So first of all, I bought an INVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050 without knowing anything about upgrading pc's, but (lucky me) it fitted into my pc. I downloaded all the drivers and things that came with it and didn't seem to have any trouble. When I first launched the game I played (Overwatch) I noticed I was only getting around 60 fps with it. When I played around with the settings a bit I noticed almost every setting was maxed out, so I figured it was because of that. I lowered all settings to the lowest possible, just to see how much fps I could get. Even with LOW settings, I had an average fps of 60-80 while in battle. I saw a change in visual things, but not in fps.
Because of this, I started google'ing about it. After a while I saw something about your CPU bottlenecking your GPU. I was reading about this and I noticed that when I was in-game, my CPU would use almost 80%. This was the point I started thinking it was bottlenecking it.
So I've been looking online for some budget CPU's that have some good performance for a low price. (Anything from 0 to 150/200 euro)
When I came across some CPU's I noticed that the socket it uses, isn't the right one for my motherboard. My motherboard uses a FLG1156 socket for the CPU, while the CPU's I've seen were having a FLG1151 socket.
So I started google'ing some more and read you needed to buy a new motherboard for a ''newer/better'' CPU to fit, because a CPU with a FLG1156 socket isnt worth the money for the upgrade you get.
This is where I got stuck. I am not sure what CPU and motherboard I should buy for it to be worth my money. I don't want to spend a huge amount of money for it, I just want a decently good upgrade for a somewhat low price.

I think this pretty much explained most of the things why I'm upgrading and what I want to upgrade, if I got anything wrong, please let me know. Still new to this as I mentioned.

To add things up: What would you reckon I should buy? Good performance to price CPU and a motherboard that can run that new CPU and my GPU.
Do I need to upgrade my RAM aswell or is it not needed yet?

Budget: I'm not sure how much a decent motherboard costs so I can't put a budget on it, but for the CPU my max is about 150/200 euro. I think I could get a decent one for that price, right?

Thanks in advance! I'm sorry if this was already asked. I searched around a bit but noticed I had a different reason to upgrade etc. so the answers on that topic didn't really help me.

My current specs:
CPU- i3-550 @3.20 GHz
GPU- GeForce GTX 1050
RAM- 6GB
MOBO- AS Rock p55m Pro

if you are getting a 6 or 7th gen intel processor, you will need a board that supports LGA1151 most likely, however in terms of price, if you know you will be doing overclocking then its recommended that you get a higher end board, if not then there are a lot of options, for a mid tier set for example:
intel i-5 7500
Gigabyte B250M-DS3H
8Gb of kingston hyperX
would cost roughly ~ 312 euros

for more of a budget you could try:
intel i3-7100
Asus H110M-C
8GB hyperX
which would be around ~232 Euros

there are a lot of other options but as long as the processor, mobo and ram are compatible it will work, when searching for parts online as long as the mobo supports the memory speeds and processor socket it'll work.
Hope I helped a little :)
