Using SSD and HDD for gaming

I have just bought a new gaming pc, which came with a 256GB SSD and I have installed a 1TB HDD. Windows 10 is installed on the SSD.
My plan was to store each of my games on the HDD, and to move the game I am currently playing to the SSD. My question is - what is the best way of doing this?

Do I install the games to the HDD, and then somehow link the current game to the SSD?


On a separate note, I am also going to be installing some video editing software - is this better installed on the SSD or HDD?


Any advice you can give me would be much appreciated

Outside of loading/saving times, very few games benefit from being on the SSD once they're up & running.

I'd just install your games to the HDD and leave it at that.
Alternatively, you could install your most frequently used title(s) to the SSD - or the ones that would benefit most from improved load/save times.

To move them back & forth from the HDD/SSD, you'd need to uninstall/reinstall. Save game files can be moved easily, but the actual game itself would need to be reinstalled.
