Hello, I've recently gotten Virgin internet installed in my area and have decided to switch from BT because Virgin has a lot better download and upload, But for some reason when gaming on no matter what Device I have tried on PC, PS4, XBOX 360 all with Ethernet my PING just rises constantly and I have no idea why I do speedtest on wired and wireless and it says my PING is 15ms Download is 100mb and upload is 15. I cannot seem to understand why it's doing this my PING goes up to about 350 at some points whilst playing games like H1Z1, CSGO and call of duty. This is surprising to me because even on my old internet BT I only had 17 download and like 5 upload and my PING would be fine the majority of the time when playing it would go bad sometimes but that's because there were a few people in my house using it and this was just certain games at the moment I cannot even play a full game without having super high PING.

P.S Virgin installed the internet a couple months ago down my street and they have only just actually activated it so that we can use it on 25th May. Not sure if this helps in anyway but all TIPs are appreciated as well as a good guide on ways to fix this in any possible way too.

Thanks.

Could well be some physical problem with the "connectivity" provided by Virgin.

Start by inspecting your physical premises. Look at all the incoming cables, ports, connections, etc. as safely as you can. I.e., do not climb poles, roofs, etc..

What you are looking for is any sign of a bad connector or physical damage to the wiring coming into your residence. Or anywhere along your street for that matter. Do neighbors have problems?

Try using tracert (instead of ping) to determine if the problem is outside of your network or ISP even.

Not at all uncommon that a new "installed the internet" was not done correctly or failed thereafter. Does not take much to cause a problem.

Call Virgin and document your calls.
