Recommended PSU for htc vive?

I had a vive a while back and when i tried to use it my pc just started smoking then later i found out my gpu and motherboard had been fried so i found out that my psu was bad thats why everything had been fried. I talked with vive support to find out what the best psu was but they kept changing their answer they just werent being reliable. Im looking to get a EVGA SuperNOVA 850W G2 and i want to know if that will be good enough.

Can you list out your full specs so that we can assess the amount of wattage you will require?
I'm not even sure why Vive support told you that. Doesn't that thing just plug into a wall socket?
And 850W is just overkill for most people.

Well i was told the vive pushes my gpu to the limit and makes it use alot of power and thats why it needs alot of wattage but im not sure heres my specs.
GPU : Nvidia GTX 1070
CPU : Intel i7 3770 3.40 GHZ
Not sure what ram i have
I have 2 HDDs aswell

True^ . And ye I normally just link my Amazon, OP should be smart enough to grab the model and buy it where they buy their parts from. ;)
