I've been doing research for my first entry level gaming rig. Recently an Nvidia GTX 970 listing caught my attention, but I'm trying to find out if a large card such as a 970 will be compatible with my MSI B150m Motherboard I purchased recently.

If not I may just go for a gtx 1060. Thank you for whomever can answer this for me.

The GTX 970, of any size, will fit the MSI B150M motherboard you have. I would be more concerned of the size of the GPU against the space clearance inside your case rather than the mobo.

The GTX 1060 (6GB) is a better choice, not because of the physical size, but because of its performance, newer chip, and lower power consumption compared to the GTX 970. http://gpu.userbenchmark.com/Compare/Nvidia-GTX-970-vs-Nvidia-GTX-1060-6GB/2577vs3639

I would personally get the GTX 1060 (6GB).
