PROBLEM: ping spikes on Ethernet connection

Hi, I've been having constant ping spikes over the past few days, and I'd like to know what the cause might be and, eventually, how to fix it. Ping spikes occur randomly every 2-5 seconds with no precise pattern but they just do this 24/7, doesn't matter the time of the day, nor what I'm doing. It's manageable with some things, like browsing internet and watching videos and stuff, but whenever it comes to online games it's awful, as I keep stuttering and stepping on place for half a second or so every 2-5 seconds, and this happens on Overwatch as well as League of Legends, so it's not a game server issue either.

What I tried so far: power cycling my router, checking its cables, pinging my own IP and then some other ones for packet loss (there doesn't seem to be any), running speed and ping tests online. Upload and download speeds seem normal, while ping shows (obviously) constant spikes, like so:

Can anyone help?

It would seem the router is the cause. You also must be very competitive. Although the math isn't working for me. You have a <40ms average delay but are suggesting a 500ms delay in games. Have you tried removing the router from the picture?

I think my old ones don't work with optical fiber, I'd have to buy a new one to test it out. Do you think the router is the cause?

Yes, but only by removing it from the picture can you be certain.
