this can be prevented by getting a decent cooler, which will reduce the temps. as long as your cooler is decent enough, you should be fine

if you overclock and you have adequate cooling (air or water) keeping the overclocked cpu/gpu to a below 80'c temp when in full use it will not damage the chipset.
