Hi guys,
I currently lost my gpu and i was thinking about going back to old games for some time. So i thought about increasing my onboard graphics but I'm a noob in this.

This is what my pc bios gave me under advanced chipset features:
Onboard VGA - Enable if no external PEG
Init display first - PCI
PAVP mode- PAVP lite mode
PAVP lite mode- 32MB
Paranoid PAVP mode - (32+96)128MB

Can someone help me with increasing it to safe value?

I use gigabyte g41combo motherboard and core 2 quad q9400 processor with 4gb ram.

It's safe it would do no damage it basically sharing the 4gb ram if you have more than 512mb of ram then you good,

Thanks a lot for your reply... That link really helped.

No i don't wish to overclock. I just want to increase my mobo's dedicated video memory to get a little better experience on low graphics games.

About buying the gpu, i was using asus gt730 2gd3 but it proved to be not much good for games after 2012. So i am planning to buy a good gpu(only when i get enough money) so I'll adjust till that time comes...

Is it safe to increase the value of 32 to maximum possible one?

256mb is the maximum value and i selected it. but sill, the default graphics settings including resolution of all games i tried (most wanted, call of duty 2) etc is set to its lowest. i used to play these games decently before buying the gpu.
