My desktop came with Win 10 preinstalled. I have an MSI PC Mate B150 like this: https://www.msi.com/Motherboard/B150-PC-MATE.html#hero-overview

I want to go back to win 7, i have burned a win 7 SP1 copy to my usb.

I have changed BIOS settings to disable fastboot and MSI fastboot (to read usb media)

I have changed usb priority to boot from media

When i get to installation screen, i get error when i click Install, "No device drivers were found. Make sure that the installation media contains the correct drivers, and then click ok"

Ive looked plenty online to fix this, like:
http://www.tomshardware.co.uk/answers/id-2949711/device-drivers-found-windows-install-usb.html

I have also switched the usb to 2.0 port for Win 7 SP1 Support

I used RUFUS to burn it it on my USB,
any help please?

MSI smart tool works.

However, one thing to note is if you have ever used your Windows 7 key to activate Windows 10, then it will no longer work for Windows 7, your key has been upgraded to Windows 10, they dont want you using old OS's.

I have had the exact same problem trying to revert a laptop to windows 7 from 10 that was installed, no matter what i tried that error would not go away. I have ended up having to just put up with windows 10. The main issue is the apparently incompatible usb ports from 3.0 to 2.0 but i never found a way around this.

It is possible for me since the motherboard supports it, and im on a desktop not laptop so the manufacturer wont control all the drivers for win 7

I am hearing the Win 7 Smart tool by MSI installs these drivers on the usb stick for newer MB, i will try this out when i get home from work

A couple ideas:
- you need a PS/2 keyboard, regardless, if you didn't hit that wall yet;
- can you create a DVD from the USB and get around that?

I built a new 1600x based PC a few weeks ago and installed windows 7 from the OEM DVD drive with a PS/2 keyboard. Not an issue at all. I did have to go to MS and request two hot fixes for M.2 support, however.
