Approximate Purchase Date: e.g.: 1-2 Weeks, or prepared to wait if AMD's Vega will be worth it?

Budget Range: £2500 inc monitor (suggestions please?) - can stretch if needed to a max of £3000

System Usage from Most to Least Important: Gaming, Gaming, Gaming

Are you buying a monitor: Yes

Parts to Upgrade: Full System

Do you need to buy OS: Unsure, I have a genuine license for Win 10 Pro activated against my microsoft account, will it transfer to new hardware?

Preferred Website(s) for Parts: Amazon UK, eBuyer, Overclockers.

Location: England

Parts Preferences: Not bothered about AMD or Intel - I do like Asus stuff though.

Overclocking: Maybe

SLI or Crossfire: Maybe

Your Monitor Resolution: 1440p or better (I dont think 60FPS at 4K is going to be achievable here?)

Additional Comments: I posted a thread before that suggested i could get a good improvement in performance by swapping out my 970 for a 1070... the more i thought about it, the less i liked that solution. I've always had "budget" monitors, including my current LG Ultrawide (the 2560 x 1080 one) and i want to see what all the fuss is about with a proper display! G-Sync i guess!

Should i be considering a prebuilt machine? some of those overclockers watercooled systems loom amazing.

And Most Importantly, Why Are You Upgrading: YOLO.

wouldnt a m.2 drive be better? I dont save a lot of stuff, so the 500GB samsung evo 960 would be my drive of choice?

I saw that monitor at that price too, is it a good monitor? reviews seem positive, i've not heard of CCL Computers either...

whats the advantages of going AMD over intel for gaming?

I was expecting to see water cooled builds too, surprised at the air cooler - are they good / better than the noctuah's?

Will cost less if not bounded to OC.uk/Ebuyer/Amazon.

The Japanese made Scythe Mugen 5 is just amazing value there in the UK for something that is almost the same level as the massive air tower like Noctua D15/ Cryorig R1. Liquid cooling setup only if you know that you want to try for 5 Ghz on the 7700k (The recommended pick for the task is the Arctic Liquid Freezer 360 mount the radiator and its six 120mm fans at the front of the ProM and move all the Phanteks 140mm to the exhaust top/back position).
TridentZ for higher performance and matching aesthetic with the STRIX MB.

Phanteks Enthoo Pro M has all the space for any further hardware upgrades you could imagine; + a full-sized tempered glass window and an opening on the PSU cover allow you to showcase all the high-end components (including one possible SSD bracket mount location on the PSU cover to show off that 850 Evo also).

While the SATA version of the 850 Evo was picked for price & look, you can opt for the M2 SATA version or the 600p to completely eliminate all SATA & Molex cables from the modular PSU. Performance wise, you'll not see much gaming performance benefits between an NVMe M2 vs a SATA SSD (whether connected through SATA or M2 port).

One extra 140mm fan complete the cooling necessary (two 140mm intake and one 140mm exhaust) for this config.

holy **** that's a lot of cpu cooling on the freezer

you've guessed my thinking, i want to eliminate as many cables as possible... to make the cable tidying easier!
