I have a laptop with 4GB ram it has one free ram slot so I wanted to upgrade it because I suffer huge issues in games and freezes... So I mostly needs to upgrade ram for gaming

So what is better to buy another 4gb ram so it can work in duel channel and be 8gb.... or buy a 8gb ram and it to my 4gb so I would be 12gb

Which would be better to run games and give more fps and less issues

And anither question will upgrading rams will increase gaming performance in the new games

My Gpu:GeForce 840m(not bad can run Most of 2017 games on low 720p)

Hope anyone replys

Adding an 8GB stick to your 4GB would likely make it run in flex mode, with the first 8GB being dual channel and the remaining 4GB in single channel. So it should be better than 2x4GB... though the difference would only kick in when using more than 8GB anyway.

Since your GPU is pretty weak and all, I doubt the extra 4GB would make a difference, unless you have a lot of browser tabs open in the background when gaming. And the 2x4GB solution is more predictable, flex mode with 8GB + 4GB might have to be configured in the BIOS. Or it might not even give you flex mode if the manufacturer has been lazy about implementing memory support.

So I would probably go for the 2x4GB setup.
Getting a matching 4GB stick would probably be best for dual-channel compatibility. Dual-channel doesn't give much of a boost but any improvement is good improvement. If your LT can handle it, look into getting 2x8GB. There's some pretty good deals on 16GB kits out there.

Thanks for your answer i don't think it will support flex mode so I will go with dual channel (2×4)ram

It is a laptop(Asus tp 500) I don't know if it supports flex mode or not
