My D: drive is running out of space by itself.

I have an issue with my secondary storage drive. It seems to be slowly losing gigabytes by itself.

About a week ago I recall having about 241gb spare space in my drive, but when I saw it today it was around 188gb when I got back. I checked the possible sources of where the file build up could be but it does not even add up.

I decided to free some space by uninstalling some unused games to take it back up to 221. However only an hour later it went to 219 by itself.

I currently use SFM, After Effects and Sony Vegas, with the last two only being written in my C: drive. It might be SFM but the screenshots of the space usage does not match to the overall drive space change.

How on earth is this happening to may storage drive?

Solution
then you could lower the value to about 4% of drive since usualy windows set it at 12% of drive size . the other thing if there is no os software on d you could disable restore point for it .

I made a system image of the two drives in a big external drive a few days ago and It is cover by the windows system restore point system. However I believe hey all get saved on the C: drive
