Hi, I've got a lead on a EVGA gtx 750ti SC on the local Craigslist for $55. Would this be a good deal and would it make a good card for a while? I'm not looking for top of the line gaming, but I just wanna know about how well this card would perform and if this is a good deal. I'm currently running a Zotac GT730.

My set up:

MSI 970AG43 motherboard

AMD FX-8300 3.3ghz(3.5Ghz overclock)

450w power supply

10GB ddr3 ram

1tb HDD (3.5")

Anything would be helpful. Thank you!!

It's entry level gaming. On newer AAA games you'll probably want to run at lower than 1080p to boost framerate. It has 2gb, so some games will restrict how high of settings you can choose. Other than that, it's a good card.

It's a big, big step up from a 730 and I think it's worth it.

Are you talking new games, old games or something in-between & at what res? i own the exact same card myself, picked it up used for aliitle more than your price about a year ago. Has served me well for games such as Civ 5, Saints row 3, Grid 2, GTA 4 all at 1080p with high/max settings. Don't have the time/willpower to game as much as i used to, but for the occasional spurt of casual gaming on fairly recent games it has served me well.

Id like to give GTAV a try with this card. Do you think it could do that? And at what resolution and settings? If I have to tone it back from 1080 I'm cool with it. I'd like to play some new games but definitely not at 1080 if that's what it takes. Just enough to enjoy the game.

On newer AAA titles, you can typically crank out 720p on high settings with some optimization. One example I'll use is Fallout 4. On high settings with some tweaking you can typically expect to see 50-60 fps in most environments. As far as the value, for $55 it's definitely a bargain as they are still around $80-$100 on Amazon (The same model as this thread is currently $150 on Amazon). This card for $55 and the capabilities it has is definitely a steal. It only draws 65w from the PCI slot and has 2GB so there is not much headroom for OCing. All in all though, definitely buy it!

It's not a terrible oc'er - i did test when i first got it & managed to get an extra 14% out of it in benchmarks. The main attractions however were low power draw & quiet performance.

I'm going to get this card within the next couple hours. Would there be any other upgrades I could make to allow it to perform any better? I've seen AIO water coolers on Amazon and ebay for fairly cheep. Would it be worth getting something like that? Or sticking to the aftermarket color I have?

overkill. To overclock enough to justify that on a 750ti you need an additional 6-pin power connector (do any 750ti's have this?) to support power requirements of that high an overclock (if even possible)

Alright. Thanks man. One more question (don't know if I need to make a new post or if I can continue to post here as so) is there any new setup that I should need to do once I get the card? Or will my computer already recognize that card?
