i recently formatted recovery (D:) on my laptop, i notice that nothing is storing to recovery (D:) the space remain 18.2GB free of 18.3GB. i recently notice Local disk (Z:) created i'm not sure how (my girlfriend use the laptop at times; she's the owner) 200MB free of 255MB. my thing is that i'm not full up to date on recovery (D:) disk and i'm concern how is it that nothing seems to be storing on it and now i'm seeing local disk (Z:). A short summary on recovery (D:) will do and did i do something or is there something to be done

well, that is a very happy thread :) even if its completely unintentional and a result of formatting

recovery partition is only used when you make a recovery disk. If you never make one, you don't need the partition. Its just as easy to make a new Install USB now, I have never made a recovery drive myself.

next version update of Win 10 will create it anyway, if you don't have one now. Its obviously used in that process as well. I originally only had 1 partition and a windows update created a 450mb recovery partition when it needed it.
