Here is my current setup

CPU Case - Aerocool Strike X - one
MOBO - ASUS P8B75-M LE
RAM - 2 Stick 4GB Kingston Hyper X
Processor - i3 2120 LGA 1155 3.3 Ghz
Graphics Card - None (Previous was r7 260x but got broken)
PSU - Cooler Master modular 730 watts
Fans - 4 120mm fans
HDD - 1 - Seagate Barracuda 7200 rpm 1TB

I want to upgrade my processor to either i5 2400s LGA 1155 or i7 2600k LGA 1155
and my graphics card to GTX 970. I wonder if these upgrades will be compatible?
Or are there any other suggested build that so that I can play Games like
GTA V or NBA2k17 at it's ultra settings.

I also wonder if I can add SSD on my cpu case.

Thanks!

rather than 970, suggest u get the RX 480 / GTX 1060 instead, with the newest tech, they should be more reliable, and performs better. both also can play GTA V in ultra 1080p with nice fps. but to remind u, GTA V is a cpu-intensive, if you're cpu is holding the gpu back (bottleneck) your fps won't be that good. if you have the budget and want to play up to 1440p just fine, get the GTX 1070 instead

But if I upgraded my processor to i5 2400 or i7 2600k would it bottleneck the gpu? Actually now my question is with
regards the generation of the processor. Those 2 are from the 2nd generation of intel processors. So would it bottleneck the gtx1060?

Wouldn't called it bottleneck in your case, since an i7 will be just fine, it's just the performance on the newer gen will be much better, example: if in 2nd gen u get 60 fps, in 7th gen u might reach 100 or even more

Well, I do see a graphic specification comparison on their site. However, these graphics qualities
are only applicable if you don't have a GPU right? In this case, does the 60fps and 100fps would still
be part of the processor? Isn't that part of the GPU?

Thanks for the response.

well u see, it's through that fps rate depends on your GPU, but remember, the data and order all comes CPU, if you CPU is too slow, the data and order will be delayed, therefore u will experience lower fps bcz of the delay, since the GPU had to wait for the CPU to catch up

I see, however, does the 2nd generation of i5 and i7 are that slow compare with the GTX1060 processing time? I guess that as long as it isn't below i5, the cpu process would still be fast.

That's what I think about, I was just worried about getting bottlenecked because the processor is way too old
for the GPU.
