My AMD Ryzen 7 1700 overclock keeps resetting back to stock speed. Why?

I have my 1700 overclocked to 3.9 GHz on a Gigabyte AX370 - Gaming 5 motherboard. When my computer goes into sleep mode the overclock resets back to the stock speed. In order to get the overclock back I have to reset the computer and load up the UEFI, which will still say 3.9 GHz, then I save and exit.

My CPU is water cooled and 1.380 - 1.392 volts

Why does my overclock keep resetting?

I just went into sleep mode in windows 10 to see if it would reset and it did. The multiplier went from 39 to 32. I am using CPU-Z and HWMonitor to check the speeds and temps.

Solution

It all depends on bios options many features are unstable some boards don't like XMP some do partial XMP profiles, Give it some time and keep your eyes on the bios upgrades think in about 3-4 more months all of this will be stable.
