I noticed that my ethernet doesn't work when connected to my laptop. I've tried looking at solutions to similar problems on this forum and on other forums as well but they don't seem to fix anything. When connected to wifi, my internet works fine but when I connect to Ethernet, for some reason websites time out and other applications which I assume don't rely on DNS servers fail to load as well. When I ping, however, it seems to work just fine. Also, I was using ethernet just fine around last week but when I tried it again a few days ago, it just seemed to stop working. I've tried different cables and different ports on the router.

What can I do to fix this?
Things I've tried:
■ Turning the router on and off
■ Set the wireless properties for automatic IP and DNS assignment
■ Disabling my antivirus
■ Restarting my laptop
