Hey guys im building my very first gaming pc but kinda lost on what psu should i choose...

My build is:

Ryzen 5 1400 with stock cooler
Zotac GTX 1060 6gb mini
Asrock B350M-HDV MAtx
1x DDR4 8GB Ram
1x 1TB Sata3 HDD
LED monitor 22inch
Power draw according to the calculator: 250w (dunno if this is accurate as i fear i havent factored in on other things. I am a newbie btw)

The recommended PSU for this build is EVGA 450w bronze but i felt that it is a little bit too tight. I heard that you should choose PSU that has 50% higher wattage than the rig's output.

I am looking at the 600w variant of EVGA but am still unsure if it will be a bit overkill. PSU should not be ineffecient (i.e underutilized) either from what ive heard.

I dont plan to overclock anything, and i could game up to 8 hours in one sitting

What do you guys think? Should i get the 600w?

Solution
450W is enough; 600W is overkill.

Depending on your budget, I would go for a good-quality 550W PSU to allow headroom for future upgrades. I don't know where you will buy the parts from but take a look at these recommended PSUs:

EVGA SuperNOVA 550 G3 (7-year warranty, fully modular), EVGA SuperNOVA 550 G2 (7-year warranty, fully modular), Seasonic G-550 (5-year warranty, semi-modular), Corsair RM550x (10-year warranty, fully modular).

Solution
Having too much power is not a problem its only when there is not enough that components will slow down but that being said a lot of people spend a fortune on a gpu and very little on a psu but I have learnt the hard way but an NVIDA gpu uses less power than an ATI 500 - 600watt is plenty for that build.
PSU Tier list tier 1-2 are good for gaming

I would recommend an EVGA SuperNova Gold G2 / or new G3 /GS / GQ, Platinum P2 / PS, or Titanium T2 or a Seasonic M12-II Evo or S12-II

GOOD PSU EVGA is a B2, G2, G3, P2, GS, PS, or T2. Avoid the EVGA B1 and G1 series I bought a G3 with 7year garentee

Thank you very much for the informative response. That tiered list is super helpful

I think i will go with a good quality 500w psu as i havent planned to upgrade in a foreseeable future yet..

Kinda out of topic, does ryzen 5 1400 will bottleneck my gtx 1060?
