I've recently just changed my motherboard processor and RAM, however i kept my PSU GPU and HDD etc, They were all working perfectly before i switched them into the new PC however when i boot the PC up the GPU doesnt run.

If i take the GPU out of a PCI slot and boot up the fan runs for about 2 seconds then stops dead. Whereas if left in the PCI slot it doesnt run at all?

Solution
Hi, The CPU was brand new and i solved the problem, i hadnt quite connected all of the PSU cables stupidly however i noticed whilst taking it apart, it's all up and running now! Thank you for all the help!

Doesn't sound like particularly your graphics card, if you're system is still turning off after the graphics card has been taken out, there might be a problem with your whole system or your power supply.

Could you please give us the full specifications of your system like mentioned above?

Then we can conclude that one of the other parts in your computer has short circuited or stopped working. How old is your CPU and what kind of cooler do you have? I'm starting to think this is either a CPU or PSU related problem.
