Hey there i recently got a "new" biostar t5xe mobo from a friend, as i had an old i3-530 sleeping in a corner with 8gbs ddr3. Everything works fine so far. I took my old 9800gt 1gb to install on the new mobo and the fan on it, doesn't work but bios will load etc. I would like to specify that i had to put back the gpu on the very old rig it was on (msi boston 1.0, 4gb ddr2, same 350w psu), and it works fine there. I tested the card on another mobo, DZ68DB, and it does the same thing, fan won't work on the gpu. Tested another gpu on the biostar mobo, and works fine. Can someone help me, i'm getting confused as to what is creating this problem.

Update : As a matter of fact the GPU became weird and by that i mean that the fan won't work when i boot up the PC but only when the PC is full on, i.e, i'm already logged on the desktop. I don't know what caused this to be honest. Because at the start when i just received the GPU, the fan will work right at the start when you boot up the pc. But either way all is well i guess after installing every drivers, etc. ^^

Please confirm that you have the latest drivers installed in this system you have built, if not, install them. If you do, please reinstall the drivers.
I'm pretty sure your graphics card doesn't have anything implemented inside of it that'll cause the fans to stop moving until it hits a certain temperature.
What do you see once entering the BIOS? Does it detect the graphics card? See if you can enable the fans/increase the fan speed from the BIOS and see if it works. Thanks and good luck!

Hello there sorry for late reply. As a matter of fact i can't get into windows for more than 10-15mins as the system shuts down because the gpu is getting hot and i don't have any other gpu to test on the board (though it's a new board sealed in it's package when i received it.) I'm currently doing a backup of all the things i need (drivers, windows, etc) and will see what happens. It detects the GPU in BIOS but i haven't tried to increase the fan speed from there. Will give it a shot and see what happens.

Yes, that should work, and if it still doesn't, there might be something wrong with your card.
