I currently have a Gigabyte g1 sniper b7 motherboard and a gtx1050 2gb, I am looking to upgrade my graphics card as much as I can to about £250. I am unsure of what to get and what will fit?

Unsure about PCIE and size fittings with mobo too?

thanks

it is made with budget parts, to sub-standard quality

it is not guaranteed to be able to actually deliver it's rated wattage, and worse it could blow if you tried to get it

if you dont want to damage the nice costly card you should upgrade it

For this money you can get a gtx 1060 6gb version. Highly recommend this version from evga. : https://www.amazon.co.uk/EVGA-GeForce-Superclocked-Express-Graphics/dp/B01IOWT538/ref=sr_1_1?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1496344293&sr=1-1&keywords=evga+gtx+1060+6gb It's discounted now and cost is only 214 gbp. Link to a build. : https://uk.pcpartpicker.com/list/LdK8JV

This will fit in almost any case. I don't know your psu so I recommend you to buy this one as well. You will fit in 250 gbp. https://pcpartpicker.com/product/zNK7YJ/evga-power-supply-100b10500kr

A quick search on that power supply says it's an HEC supplied unit. Meh. I personally would not spend £250 on a good videocard when I had such a crappy power supply. Get a decent power supply first, it's worth it. Meanwhile, if you can run a 1050 then your motherboard can handle anything else new.

What's the point of giving him the weaker rx 580? Gtx 1060 6gb is for the same price. I linked him a better card. There is no point for you to show him that you can find different parts. One more thing. You can get 500w psu for the same price. I updated my post and added a link to pcpartpicker for a better proposition for the same amount of money that you suggested. :)

that 500w psu you listed is not good

on average the 580 is faster

superninja12's recommendations are good

most likely to stick with a gtx, my friend has gone through 3 rx480s now apparently they have some really sensitive pins or something
