So recently one of my ram sticks became fault leaving me with 7x4gb of ddr4 ram. The motherboard I currently am using is the Asus Tuf Sabertooth x99 and it uses quad channel memory according to the manual. My question is would it be better to leave the ram how it is in order to obtain 28gb of total ram in my system (I'm guessing this won't utilize the quad channel). Or should I take out one stick of ram in order to use 6x4gb of ram? Also does quad channel memory even work with the 6x4gb configuration of the memory modules, I always thought in order to use quad channel you needed to use a setup of 4x4gb or 8x4gb ddr4 ram? Any education on the following questions will greatly be appreciated!
