I've been trying to find a decent guide for overclocking RAM and haven't yet found one I can understand. There is one here on TH from a couple years back but it quickly starts talking in jargon / terms I don't understand. Can anyone point me to a good one?

I've OC'd my CPU to a healthy 4.5ghz simply by increasing the cpu multiplier and increasing the voltage. I've left the BCLK at standard 100.00hz. Now the guide on overclockering on TomsH starts off by saying set BCLK to max and then start adjust RAM clock but it notes that this might screw up CPU overclocking. Not sure what that means for me.

Don't understand why I'm finding this hard! CPU / GPU overclock was a doddle.

I've set the XMP profile in my UEFI and set the target at 2800hz (my ram is stock 2400) and it's running fine so I think that means it's OC'd but id like to go further and I'd like to do it properly. Reason I'm doing it is to learn about OC really rather than any performance issues. My rig runs AAA titles on max without issue so not about performance really.

Setup:
I5-6600k @4.5ghz
GTX 1070 @1950mhz
32gb (4x8gb) corsair vengance lpx 2400 @ 2800mhz xmp
ASRock F1tality K6
EVGA 750+ gold PSU
Thermaltake P3 case
Custom water loop on CPU/GPU
Cyclone evo 3 cooler on ram (looks cool

Solution
4.5 ghz...
1950ghz...

i suggest you tune those up to par first before you dip into ram overclocks.
cpu and gpu overclocks more effective than ram overclocks.

but if u dont care then maybe try bumping up dram voltage (My Ripjaws V runs at 2800mhz with 1.3v) and manually set timing (I have 17 17 17 40 400T 1T)
