Hi guys, i am planning to build my first budget gaming pc next month after my overseas work secondment finished.

While browsing through GPUs online in my home country's local online store, i saw a very cheap Zotac GTX 1060 mini 6gb.

Did a quick research and found super positive reviews e.g. the performance is identical with other gtx 1060, silent fan, temperature, etc. Without a second thought i purchased it and now its on its way shipped to my home.

It was later that i found out that the GPU had temperature issue. On a typical gaming load, it can go up to 80C. I am total newbie and i dont know if 80C is normal in GPUs, but it seems pretty hot.

Did i made a wrong decision by getting zotac 1060 6g mini? I dont do overclocking at all and my case is mid tower with 120mm intake and exhaust fan. Will this card temperature be safe on my build?

My currently planned build is:

CPU: i5 7500

Mobo: Asrock b250m performance

GPU: zotac gtx 1060 6g mini

PSU: EVGA 550 GD

Ram: ocpc xtreme ddr4 4x2gb

Hdd: WDC Blue sata3.5 1tb

Case: bitfenix ronin (with stock fan)

Sorry for not using pc part picker. Im typing on my phone..

And as a side question, is my build okay? I cherry picked the parts from other people's build and asked some questions here and there (mostly reddit and tomshardware). Do i need to tweak my build a bit?

Your temps are fine 80C under full load is completely acceptable. One tweak I would do for sure is get a better PSU. You want a teir 1 or teir 2 supply. Some of evga's lower end units are not very good though I can't find much on yours. It may be fine and it may be crap. I suggest going with something you know will be good.

Anything in tier 1 or 2. Also i would consider getting a SSD if you can afford for your boot drive.

I saw some topic in reddit that this gpud could go up to 83C non-OC playing BF4 in 1440p. Is this dangerous if this temp is stays for, say, 4 hours of gaming?

Edit: and also thanks for the suggestion on the psu and ssd.
