Opinion on new build

Okay so I'm pretty new to custom PCs and I was wondering if what I have so far is considered "high-end" and if all the parts are compatible and what I should add/take away. I plan to use this build for gaming on ultra settings in 1440p.

The parts

CPU- Intel - Core i7-7700K 4.2GHz Quad-Core Processor
CPU cooler- Cooler Master - Hyper 212 EVO 82.9 CFM Sleeve Bearing CPU Cooler
Motherboard- Asus - STRIX Z270-E GAMING ATX LGA1151 Motherboard
Memory- Corsair - Vengeance LPX 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR4-3000 Memory
Storage- Western Digital - BLACK SERIES 1TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive (I am considering getting an SSD as well, but I'm unsure of a good one and I don't know if it's worth it.)
Video card- MSI - GeForce GTX 1080 Ti 11GB GAMING X Video Card
Case- Corsair - 750D ATX Full Tower Case (I feel like this case may be too big, but I do plan to switch to water cooling in a year or so, so I assume bigger means better? Also, this case comes with three fans built in and I'm wondering if I'll need more fans to keep everything cool.)
Power supply- EVGA - SuperNOVA NEX 650W 80+ Gold Certified Fully-Modular ATX Power Supply
Optical drive- Asus - DRW-24B1ST/BLK/B/AS DVD/CD Writer
Operating system- Microsoft - Windows 10 Home OEM 64-bit
Sound card- Asus - STRIX SOAR 24-bit 192 KHz Sound Card (I'm confused on this because I'm pretty sure most motherboards come with one on the motherboard already, so I don't know if this is really needed.)
Monitor- Dell - S2417DG 23.8" 2560x1440 165Hz Monitor

As I said earlier, I'm pretty new to building a custom computer and I would like opinions on if this is good or not and what I should add or replace or take away and if all these parts are compatible with one another.

I also heard that Seagate Barracuda is the better choice over Western Digital Black.

I would also like to get into overclocking but I'm completely clueless as to how to go about it and if it's even safe to do without water cooling.

Solution
SSD is very worth it, Samsung 850 evo is always a good choice

What level of water cooling are you going with, a normal AIO cooler will not need that large of a case, a 460x would be more then sufficient

That power supply is not that good. Get a EVGA G2/G3 version.

No your motherboard supplied audio card wil be fully sufficient for most users (if it is not sufficient then you would be such an audiophile that you would not even be asking).

I kept the monitor, and the keyboard, headset and mouse are my personal choices, change them as you see fit.
Hope this helps!
