I want to use a Wifi Signal extender but I do not want the extender to connect to the router wirelessly, I would like to plug a internet enabled Ethernet cable directly in to the extended itself and get the signal directly. I have a Ethernet port in the wall already, I just want to eliminate having to run a cord to the opposite side of the room, and get the signal to the extended directly.

How can I do that?

What you want (if I got it right) is called "AP" - Access Point, a device connected over Ethernet to the main router, and providing WiFi.
When configuring such a device, you give it static IP address (preferably outside of DHCP scope the router is serving).

So, you have to find a way to plug your AP to a LAN port of the router, and configure it properly.
