So i'm trying to play Vietcong (mostly for nostalgic reasons) but the thing simply refuses to open. What has me really confused is that the game actually starts up, but as a background process...

Why on earth would a game start as a background process? I've tried running as administrator while using various compatibility modes which hasn't worked. This is the only game i've ever tried running that has opened as a god damn background process, so i'm really not sure what's going on. I'm on windows 10 if that matters.
Any help would be appreciated.
