So all of my flash drives are version 3.0 and my case has 3.1 usb ports. So will the speed of my flash drives improve since I connected them to a usb 3.1 port??? Or will the speed be similar to a usb 3.0 speed?? Hope you understand my question guys. Can't rephrase them in a better way.
To my knowledge, the version of a drive affects the speed of the drive...again this is to my knowledge.

THANKS IN ADVANCE!!!

Solution
Lowest speed/version should govern but there will still be some minor improvements.

E.g.: USB3.0 flash drive on USB2.0 port = Significantly faster USB2.0 (not USB3.0) speeds

E.g.: USB2.0 flash drive on USB3.0 port = Slightly faster USB2.0 speeds

In your case, the USB3.1 flash drive should perform better on a USB3.0 port compared to using a USB3.0 flash drive on the same port, based on the tests made by anandtech in the links above.

Solution
Usb 3.1 Gen 1 is still USB 3.0, just renamed to this.
USB 3.1 gen 2 is the newer protocol with theoretical 10Gbps
Most cases are still usb 3.1 Gen 1 (5Gbps).
The speed of the flash drives will depend on the flash used and whether the usb port can support that bandwidth.
