Greetings.
Please excuse me if put this thread in wrong section.
So of to my dilemma. Currently i own MSI GTX 1070 and i play games at FHD (specs. of my config will be added at end of post) but recently AMD has started to garner my attention a lot.
My original plan for summer of 2016 was to buy rx480 but in my country there was a short supply of them, Nvidia on other hand saturated market (i got in to some money unexpected) so i bought GTX 1070. I always had AMD CPU in my PC and i am quite fond of them and i would like to have all red team components in my rig. Also i like AMD-s looking in to future attitude whilst i started to resent Nvidias policies and planed obsolescence.
So for full HD, highest setting possible plus 60+ fps is it wise to go for RX580 or some other RX product and if it is which one to buy?
All advice's and inputs are valuable and will be taken in to consideration.

My rig:
MBO: Gigabyte ab350-gaming 3
CPU: Ryzen 5 1600x Stock
GPU: MSI Geforce 1070
RAM: Kingston HyperX Savage 16 GB DDR4
HDD: Couple of old beat down rust buckets
PSU: Corsair CX 600
OS: Windows 10 x64

Solution
Since you already have the GTX 1070 (more than capable of maxing out all games in Ultra settings in 1080p/~60fps), getting an RX 580 is a downgrade.

The RX 580, though being a top-of-the-line GPU for 1080p/~60Hz may not able to max out all games, esp. AAA games, in Ultra settings (though in most games, it will). Still, at this point in time, it is not wise to substitute a better performing card for a weaker one just because of the theme.

The GTX 1070 is ~1.4x faster in effective speed/performance compared to the RX 580: http://gpu.userbenchmark.com/Compare/Nvidia-GTX-1070-vs-AMD-RX-580/3609vs3923

If you prefer all-red team, you can await for AMD Vega, which is intended to directly take on Nvidia's GTX 1070/1080/1080Ti GPUs...

That's a long video. The planned obsolescence part starts around min 16.

I'm not going to deny that some of that is possible and maybe even a bit true. But a lot of that is garbage as well. I remember hearing about most of those when they came out including those odd screen shots where the water isn't even in view but is being rendered anyways. To be honest though there are so few gameworks titles I don't see it being able to change the gaming world. People come here all the time and ask about if they should buy an Nvidia card because of PhysX and I point out there are so few GPU accelerated games it's not worth it. And as he pointed out those that come to light are so broken and bad they get poor reviews. At some point people will get wise about how poor they are and stop buying them. While tessellation is built into DX10 and above it doesn't really get used much and most of the time it either works well or doesn't get used at all. A few games here and there that kills AMD cards or older gen cards isn't going to overthrow the gaming world.
